Our Vineyards

La Rioja is a landscape that originates around seven valleys, culminating in two mountain ranges: the Sierra de la Demanda and the Sierra de Cantabria. In front of both, small hills and gentle slopes rise on all sides. This is where some of the highest quality vineyards in Rioja are located, defined by the personality of its soil, as well as perfect exposure and altitude. This intricate landscape dominates the area where our vineyards are located and constitutes a particularly favorable microclimate that contributes to the uniqueness of our Rioja wines, with their notable aromatic complexity, freshness and elegance.

Lomas del Marqués transports us centuries ago, to the various historical marquisates located in the heart of Rioja and whose spectacular vineyards
adorn the countless rolling hills of this territory. Due to the quality of its soil, these hills were ideal for growing vineyards or olive trees; while the plains were used for grazing or growing cereals, such as wheat and barley.

More than three centuries ago, the lands around the current towns of Villamediana, Agoncillo, Murillo de Rio Leza and Alberite, where our vineyards are located today, were assigned to three different Marquises (some of whose titles still exist). Lomas del Marqués refers to the origins of this land deal, and the coveted rolling hills that define the area.
